The field of the user experience design is actively expanding and being understood more and more in detail very rapidly. Despite that, the literature studies show, there is not a large number of references to systematically and comprehensively provide an overview of the user interface animation impacting the user experience.  The purpose of the paper is to provide an overview of the state of the research, examining the impact of the animation on the user experience. Four main advantages of the animation positively impacting the user experience were taken into consideration in the study after a detailed references review: cognitive processes, visual attention, communication, context connection. The animation reduces the cognitive load and enhances the learning performance of the users. Consequently, it creates a mental map of spatial information. The animated user interface is highly effective in alerting the user, grabbing its visual attention. It also motivates and creates an emotional tie between the platform and the users. Moreover, the animation connects context changes, helping associate different platform variants and reinforcing the hierarchy in the application's architecture. The findings may be useful to help designers to better understand the impact of the animation on the user experience and assist them in the future design processes.
