Abstract

This paper aimed to develop a methodology for the design of surfaces in order to optimize products and to direct solutions' possibilities of technically adequate surface treatment, attending the needing as an aesthetic, ergonomic and functional effect. The emphasis was on testing the proposed methodology to obtain an improvement in the products through its surface topology. For the survey, several products used in daily lives of users were highlighted, which due to their size offers intense handling. The analysis also occurs through the results that an application of the presented method when used by a group of designers during the production of a product. In this research it was necessary the analysis of the state of the art about the methodologies of the surface design with capacity to: typify and characterize problems that involve failures and opportunities in the product topology. It's expected as result of this research that the use of the developed methodology can contribute to the academic and professional development supporting designers and engineers and configurating specifics solutions for the superficial needs of products, making them more efficient, comfortable and aesthetic.
